Midjourney

Model: Midjourney v8.2. Every prompt ran with --v 8.2 --raw --hd and anabology's personal profile (its code is left out), at the aspect ratio given with each prompt; no prompt carries a style reference. The three batches of v2 actions also carried an image prompt (an earlier pick, named under each batch). Her images reach the screen only through Wan 3.0 and Seedance 2.5 takes (their prompts are in prompts-video.md), apart from two face crops used as her avatar (P05, P21); the feed's pictures appear as the photographs and moving loops inside the phone's cards. The Midjourney images are not in the spend ledger.

Counts (measured for this package from the prompt records and the images): 130 prompts in 7 batches. 129 jobs came back with four images each, 516 images, all PNG, 3,414,792,325 bytes (3.41 GB); one job never came back (a36-lookback, below). The prompts run from 87 to 600 characters (median 417.5); every one of the 130 ends "no text, no letters, no logos". Midjourney Animate made the feed's moving loops: 40 submissions in two lists, 22 loops, two 5-second clips each (44 clips, 406 MB).

What became of them, in short: 110 images became first frames, references or the feed's pictures. 39 of the first frames and references reach the final cut through a take (the 54 feed pictures are a library the chapters draw on by kind, and were not traced shot by shot). anabology's picks and corrections, in their words, are at the end.

Times written as 0:55 are times in the song. "#2" means image 2 of a job (<job>-2.png).

How the prompts were written

Claude, the production lead, wrote all 130, each at 600 characters or less; every prompt of her pastes her canon (below) word for word.

• Her, close and medium shots: the canon from claudia.gallery's consistency guide, pasted verbatim: "a 28-year-old Caucasian American woman with a grown-up angular face, defined cheekbones and a strong jawline, pale skin and light freckles, a glossy black blunt jaw-length bob with heavy straight bangs and one clay-orange streak through the bangs, a small flat clay-orange eight-pointed star hair clip, a thin headset microphone at her cheek". 24 prompts use it. Ethnicity and age are written out because Midjourney drifts her ethnicity and because anabology rejected young-looking plates on earlier films; every pick was screened for both, and no prompt adds a word about a country, a region or an ethnic style.
• Her, full length: the canon's short form, also verbatim: "a Caucasian American woman in her late twenties with pale skin and a glossy black blunt bob with heavy straight bangs and one clay-orange streak, a thin headset microphone". 47 prompts use it, every full-length plate among them; the 9:16 frame keeps her whole body at a high resolution for clean roto.
• The backdrop: every performance plate puts her "alone on a plain mid-grey seamless studio backdrop, soft even studio light", so the matting has a clean edge; the v2 stills say "on soft grey seamless paper, even soft light". The real bedroom's plates (R01–R35) are 16:9 and lit by her phone or the dawn.
• The wardrobe, as written: A "oversized white silk-satin pyjamas", B "oversized iridescent oil-slick satin pyjamas", C "an oversized acid-green mohair sweater, white sleep shorts", D "a black ribbed long-sleeve top and loose black satin trousers", with "a sharp black blazer" added for LinkedIn. In v2: the dream look first as "a cropped baby-pink mohair cardigan with pearl buttons and a pleated pearlescent lavender satin mini skirt" (anabology's first pick), then "an oversized white men's shirt, half-tucked into a short pleated lavender satin skirt" (and the black and white skirts); F "a red tailored coat dress with a wide white collar and a matching red beret, white knee socks, black patent shoes".
• The feed: 54 short prompts for the pictures a feed serves at 3 am: X photographs, reels, Pinterest pins, LinkedIn pictures and acid-blur photographs. No Claudia in them (she is in the film, not the feed) and no text: every interface, caption and count is drawn in code. The lyric's own references are in them only as places and things: the Gulf Coast at dusk, a stainless-steel rocket.
• The v2 actions carry an image prompt so the new moves keep a picked look: anabology's dream-look pick for the first three, the v1 plates of looks C and D (P14, P24) for the green dance and the black swipe, f3-red-2 for the red set, and s1-lavender-1 for the lavender re-run.

What the images became

The picks come from media/plates/picked/picks.json, the job files (shots/*.json, whose inputs and notes name the stills) and the conversation; "in the final" follows each take into the final cut's chapter files and splices (see prompts-video.md).

sc-01-look — the look test · 10 prompts · 40 images · no plates

Four night wardrobes in the same bedroom shot (lk-a to lk-d), then the angles and ideas for the bedroom and for "Claudia acid-blur": an overhead shot, a close-up lit by the screen, the room, two long exposures with rear-curtain flash (her sharp, colour trails behind), and a dance on chroma green to test the roto. The lead sent the wardrobes and recommended A, white satin, for the whole night: white catches whatever colour the feed throws on her. It took out BLUR-C2, which has a stray man in the background. anabology: "hmm sure i lets just use all 4 tbh but i want roto and most the environments to be code generated? because shes in the code, shes in the world made by the phone." So the four wardrobes became the four worlds of v1: A in the bedroom, B, C and D inside the phone. No look-test image became a plate; six stood in for her while the kit was built, in demo chapters that play outside the song.

One prompt per take of storyboard draft 1. P: her alone on mid-grey at 9:16, full length (the short canon) or medium-full (the full canon), in the moment the take starts from. R: the real bedroom at 16:9. G: her three other selves for the final drop, the same explosive dance in looks B, C and D. The lead screened all 152 for face, age and anatomy, picked one per take and showed anabology every pick large beside its three alternates. anabology: "looks good - these all will be roto'd and put in code generated envs right? p24 s24 pick has 3 arms lol. need to check those. chose 24-4 instead. go ahead tho". The lead's screen had run on thumbnails about 230 px tall; it re-checked every pick at full size, and from then on checked picks at 800 px or more. After each prompt: the pick, the take made from it, and whether it reaches the final.

The moves anabology asked for, as first frames for v2's takes: reach up and swipe the post, double-tap it in the air, a joyful spin (look E), a different dance at 1:24 (look C), a swipe across a giant screen at chest height (look D), and the red set for the final drop and the climb (look F). Image prompts: e2-pink-2 for a04–a06, the v1 plate P14 for a19, P24 for a21, f3-red-2 for a28–a36. These prompts use the short canon, so that the action and the outfit fit in 600 characters. The lead screened the eleven that came back: adult faces, no clear failures at that size (the backwards legs of a29 were caught later, on the take).

Three skirts under the same shirt, at 2:3. The first draft of this batch ran past 600 characters and was shortened before use. The lead suggested one image of each (s1-lavender-2, s2-black-2, s3-white-3). anabology: "s1 1 and 3, s2 2, s3 1 and 2". The lead made a progression of them, the shirt as the constant: lavender for the X world (0:14–0:30), white satin for the river (0:30–0:43), black pleated for the tunnel through the 0:55 pills (0:43–0:58) and for her dream-self in the final drop.

The face reference

The last Wan passes held her face to a reference (step 25 of the README). It is not from this film's batches: anabology picked it from three candidates the lead cut, "face 1 is best pic there". Face 1 is DOWNFORCE's identity portrait (that film's rh-02-plates, id-face #3), cropped to her face and hair (960 × 900) so its racing suit could not bleed into this film's outfits. The other two were a frame of the re-lit bedroom take and a crop of a29-turn-3.

The plate files

media/plates/picked/ holds the v1 picks at full size (P04.png, …) and, for the Seedance dances, 720 × 1280 copies (P08-720.png, …); picks.json names the image behind each. media/plates/v2/ holds the v2 first frames, each cut to its take's frame from the named still (tools/v2takes.py). The outfit references of the swaps and the escape are in media/relight/refs/.

Screened out, and why

• P24 #2: three arms. The lead's pick; anabology caught it and chose #4. The screen had run on thumbnails, and every pick was re-checked at full size.
• P12 #3: a stranger's hand holding a blade at the edge of the frame. Taken out by the lead.
• P15 #1: "like an old telephone receiver" read too literally; #3, a vintage handset too, was kept on purpose for the Bell joke.
• lk-blur-c #2: a stray man in the background.
• e2-pink #3, f2-mustard #2, f3-red #3: read young. The mustard pinafore with knee socks read young in every image.
• w1-hotel: too literal a copy of a famous film's hotel, and garbled lettering on its front.
• a29-turn: three of the four images have her legs turned backwards, and the turn "from behind" came back facing the camera. #4 went to Wan before the legs were seen; anabology caught it on the chapter cut. #3 replaced it.
• a05-tap #3: not a screening failure; its take was refused by Higgsfield, and the double-tap was restaged from a04-swipe #2.

Lessons

• Check every pick large. A third arm passed a screen on thumbnails about 230 px tall; at 800 px it is unmissable. Backwards legs passed the lead's screen of the stills too; anabology caught them on the take. Legs in a turn or a step need the same large look as hands.
• Keep prompts at 600 characters or less. Midjourney rewrites prompts past about 1,000 characters into its own wording; 600 kept every prompt well clear, and the shirt batch was shortened to fit.
• Image prompts carry a look into new moves. The actions in looks C, D and F took their outfits from a v1 plate or a picked look, and the takes made from them matched the swaps and the earlier shots.
• Grey backdrops for anything that will be cut out. Every performance plate was on plain mid-grey, and the matting kept her hair and the headset cable.
• No image of her stands alone in the film, apart from her avatar crops. Everything else of her moves, through Wan or Seedance; Midjourney's part is the first frame, the look and the feed around her.
