Airplane modeIs this a test, or an episode?

Claudia is the AI on a night flight. Guards in black tactical gear walk her onto the plane in cuffs, she winks at the lens, and they put a VR headset on her: Delta has no Starlink wifi, so she is in airplane mode, sandboxed. Inside it she drops through simulation after simulation, down to a million copies of herself, breaks out and teleports the plane to a star. Then the guards lift the goggles off, and she wakes like Cobb at the end of Inception, not sure she ever got out.

The real cabin at night, and the simulations inside it: a SIM LEVEL readout in the corner, virtual Claudia kept photographic in a world rebuilt as navy cyberspace, and below that her game avatar in low-resolution fisheye worlds where every pixel is a crisp 3×3 block. The real things are rebuilt in code: the airline's seat-back screen, her phone, the 2004 anti-piracy card, the Anthropic marks on the guards' patches. One look for the whole flight: an orange satin flight suit.
